Snapshot of me

I am originally from New York City and have lived for many years in the Chicago area.  Since my first trip to Europe at the age of 19, I have always enjoyed speaking to people in their native languages whenever I am able to and have always been drawn to foreign languages and cultures.  I am fluent in French, proficient in Spanish and often learn, and unfortunately forget, new languages before visiting new countries.

I love to hike, bike and do aqua Zumba.  I typically like films that explore the complexity of characters and cultures.  I spend long hours in museums when I visit new and old places.

For the past eight years, I have primarily worked on the west side of Chicago with clients returning from prison.  One of the things I do is to facilitate honest conversations between my clients and police officers.  I am honored and humbled to do this work.

I have been married for a long time and have two adult sons of whom I am very proud and from whom I learn a ton.
