In Vietnam as I went from bank to bank to exchange dollars into Vietnamese dong (VND), I was repeatedly told that my 20 dollar bills were not spanking new enough for the bank to accept. I told them I received the bills from an American bank in Chicago but they were not persuaded. Only when I discovered that Vietcombank would take my bills no matter what they looked like did it become my go-to bank. Every time I passed a Vietcombank I had a warm and fuzzy feeling about the logo. It was strange to feel grateful to a bank for doing what all banks should do.
